Abstract

For the human brain, context dependency was studied in successive presentation of image stimuli to examine the influence of formerly presented stimuli. It is shown that concept formation is influenced by the context of successively presented stimuli. These conclusions were reached after three psychological experiments. Based on the results, a new retrieval mechanism for an image database is proposed, and the merit of supporting the retriever's decision making is discussed.>
