An analysis is presented of the properties of the gravitational waves emitted by a fully relativistic, non-rotating stellar model, which is pulsating in a non-radial manner. Attention is focused on quasi- normal-mode pulsations in which the star is excited at some initial moment of time, it radiates gravita- tional waves thereafter, and these waves gradually damp its nearly periodic pulsations. For such quasi- normal modes a discussion is presented of the polarization of the gravitational waves and of the energy, momentum, and angular momentum which the waves transport
