Laura N. Gitlin, PhD, is an associate professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy and director of research in the Center for Collaborative Research in the College of Allied Health Sciences at Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Gitlin is a funded researcher, having received research and training grants from both federal agencies and private foundations, including the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research and the National Institute on Aging. She has presented numerous papers at scientific meetings, particularly in areas such as rehabilitation, clinical and collaborative research, chronic disability, and the elderly and dementia management. She has published extensively in peer reviewedjournals and has just co-authored a book on research methodology, which is being published by Mosby Yearbook.
