Parasitic hepatic abscess linked to progressive eosinophilic myocarditis in a female patient.
Case Report (n=1)
This case report highlights a rare presentation of eosinophilic myocarditis associated with a parasitic hepatic abscess.
Alerts clinicians to eosinophilic myocarditis in parasitic hepatic abscess; hypothesis-generating and requires validation in larger studies.
Eosinophilic myocarditis (EM) is a rare form of myocardial inflammation characterized by eosinophilic infiltration in the myocardium, often accompanied by peripheral eosinophilia. The extent of myocardial eosinophilic infiltration is thought to depend on the underlying disease, as well as the severity and duration of eosinophilia exposure. We present a case of a female patient diagnosed with EM progressing in the context of a parasitic hepatic abscess.
