Essay series culminates in a call for trust and recognition in Busan, highlighting its significance.
Eighteen days ago, the first question was asked — why must the next Busan be Busan? Today is that election day. Having passed through seventeen questions, we have come back to where we began. This essay is the 18th and final in Busanloop's "18 Questions for Next Busan" series. The seventeen scattered questions gather into a single stem. Trust. And trust begins with people recognizing people. The next Busan is a Busan that recognizes people — not the ranking of its port or the size of its budget, but recognition and trust, the one thing Busan can offer the world. And that is the last work left to a city in an age when measuring, recording, and connecting all pass to tools. Series vocabulary chain complete: trust (Q9) → recognition (Q10) → infrastructure (Q11) → misalignment (Q12) → discovery (Q13) → will (Q14) → gathering (Q15) → points abroad (Q16) → continuity (Q17) → a Busan that recognizes (Q18). The series closes in a full circle with Q1.
