Evaluates X-ray scintillation efficacy in copper(I) iodide complexes, suggesting promising imaging applications.
Two copper( i ) iodide complexes based on [Cu 5 I 7 ] 2− units and triethylenediamine-derived cationic ligands are reported. Complex 1 with a μ 5 -iodide shows a light yield of 19 010 photons per MeV and 8 lp mm −1 spatial resolution in X-ray imaging.
