Demonstrates system-wide stability in multi-bus DC microgrids, indicating reduced computational complexity.
This paper proposes a passivity-based decentralized approach to analyze system-wide stability for multi-bus DC microgrids, deriving a decentralized stability condition and region of attraction (ROA) estimate. A passivity index is developed to quantify the effect of subsystem dynamics on the system-wide stability. By aggregating subsystem storage functions into a system-wide Lyapunov function, a decentralized stability condition is obtained that is verifiable through local state measurements and essential grid parameters without centralized computation. Further, an estimate of ROA is constructed and decomposed into localized voltage bounds for individual buses, which provides a decentralized voltage convergence guarantee. Simulations validate the method’s efficacy in large-signal stability analysis. Compared with conventional centralized analysis methods, this decentralized approach significantly reduces computational complexity and communication burden, achieving the scalability of stability analysis.
