Some isolated microgrids supply electricity for multiple pulsed loads, which consume tremendous energy in a short period. Usually, it is hard for an isolated microgrid to maintain stable when serving many pulsed loads directly and randomly. This paper proposes a novel energy supply strategy under some operational constraints in a single-bus microgrid from load perspective. Firstly, the charging circuit with supercapacitors before pulsed loads is presented. Then, an optimization model is introduced, which maximizes the power supply utility in a specified period by adjusting the charging process of energy storage system. Furthermore, three kinds of operational constraints are considered: the upper and lower bounds of times for pulsed loads supply, the non-constant upper bound of total charging power, and the completeness of charging process. Particle swarm optimization algorithm is used to find an optimal strategy. A case with 8 pulsed loads shows the efficacy of the proposed model and algorithm.
