Inverter performance is typically measured against its ability to produce a high fidelity output waveform with narrow band switching frequency and fast transient response. The implementation of a new and improved algorithm that belongs to the family of zero average current error (ZACE) methods is reported in this paper. Advantages include microprocessor implementation, efficient computation with decreased computational intensity and software control of operational parameters (such as switching frequency, output frequency and output amplitude). The effectiveness of the new current control algorithm is demonstrated using an experimental concept prototype.
