The study investigates vibration characteristics of anisotropic nanoparticles in inviscid fluid, suggesting enhanced modeling approaches.
Accurate modeling of nanoparticle vibration behavior requires consideration of scale-dependent effects. This can be rigorously described using nonlocal elasticity or strain gradient theories. Despite the inherent anisotropy of most natural materials, isotropic approximation is often adopted for convenience in engineering analyses. Although this simplification is generally sufficient, it may introduce notable inaccuracies in situations where nanoscale anisotropic effects are significant. This work proposes a nonlocal continuum mechanics to describe the behavior of an anisotropic spherical nanoparticle in an inviscid compressible fluid. Unlike previous studies, this work integrates nonlocal terms into the boundary conditions to improve precision. This article provides a significant contribution to improving vibrational analysis of spherical elastic anisotropic nanoparticles. The derived frequency equation is fundamental to understanding experimentally observed vibrational responses of spherical nanoparticles.
