Participants included 1,000 people with obesity and 200 healthcare professionals, conducted between 20 April and 11 May 2022.

54% of people with obesity acknowledged obesity as a chronic disease compared to 90% of healthcare professionals.
91% of people with obesity believed weight loss was their responsibility, while only 17% of healthcare professionals agreed.
Only 30% of people with obesity discussed weight with their healthcare professionals in the past five years, primarily due to financial concerns and self-responsibility.
