Narrative review introduces a framework to enhance academic skills in early-career biomedical researchers, suggesting structured mentorship.
This narrative review introduces a novel pedagogical framework to support early-career learners in biomedical research. Drawing on existing literature, it consolidates five essential domains: (1) professionalism; (2) research practices; (3) scientific communication; (4) the use of artificial intelligence tools; and (5) career development. Each domain includes practical, experience-based strategies to promote learner engagement and skill integration. Designed for trainees and early-career professionals in the biomedical sciences, the framework also serves as a valuable resource for mentors and educators. It advocates for structured, learner-centered mentorship and helps learners navigate research roles with greater clarity, autonomy, and long-term success.
