Evaluates dietary components for preventing kidney stones, suggesting effective strategies for healthcare practitioners.
The significant financial burden that urinary stone disease places on healthcare systems is only anticipated to increase over time. It is becoming more common over the globe. It is an increasing urinary condition that impacts around 12% of the global population, and environmental variables appear to be a key contributor. Metabolic disorders, dietary habits, and many personal habits all have a role in kidney stone formation. Besides lowering the need for invasive surgical treatments to treat urinary stone disease, a suitable dietary intervention can help effectively avoid repeated stones. The primary dietary strategy in the therapy of urolithiasis is adequate fluid intake, which is thought to be a mitigating factor in the main battle against urinary development of stones. One of the most widely consumed drinks in every country is tea, which is a part of regular fluid intake. Tea bioactive ingredients, such as catechins, caffeine, and polyphenols, have diuretic and antioxidant properties that aid in preventing the development of kidney stone formation. The review's objective is to evaluate the kidney stone prevention dietary components. The findings of this study may aid healthcare practitioners in developing a dietary prevention strategy for kidney stone disease.
