Key Points

The research aims to enhance heuristic models for optimizing the selective full truckload pickup and delivery problem with an emphasis on pollution reduction.
Utilized a time-window-partition-based heuristic for model reformulation.
Applied the model to analyze logistics operations in urban environments.
Evaluated environmental impacts related to pollution levels during delivery.
Demonstrated a significant reduction in total pollution metrics by 25%.
Achieved a 15% improvement in delivery efficiency under the new model (p<0.05).
Showed enhanced operational time allocation leading to better vehicle utilization.

Implication

Study improves logistics efficiency and sustainability in truckload delivery, indicating better environmental management.
