Quasi-experimental trial demonstrates improved evidence-based practice in nurses after empowerment program, suggesting training efficacy.
Introduction: Evidence-based practice (EBP) is essential for delivering safe and effective nursing care, yet many nurses in India face challenges in applying research due to limited knowledge, training gaps, and inadequate exposure. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a Structured Research Empowerment Program (SREP) in improving nurses’ evidence-based practice. Objectives: 1.To assess the effectiveness of SREP on nurses’ knowledge, attitude, and practice regarding EBP.2.To compare post-intervention EBP outcomes between nurses who received SREP and those who did not. Materials and Methods: A quasi-experimental pre test post test design was used. Seventy staff nurses were selected through purposive sampling and assigned to experimental (n=35) and control (n=35) groups. The experimental group received six SREP sessions over two weeks. A structured KAP questionnaire was used pre- and post-intervention.Post test was conducted after 4 weeks Result: The experimental group showed a significant improvement (p<0.05) in knowledge, attitude, and practice scores compared to the control group, indicating the effectiveness of SREP.Conclusion: The Structured Research Empowerment Program effectively enhanced evidence-based practice among nurses.
