Survey examines ICT integration in English language teaching, highlighting benefits for UG students and teachers in Gujarat.
This paper examines some earlier research and approaches to integrating ICT with English language teaching. Its goal is to determine how technological innovation raises educational standards for Gujarati UG classes and makes them more student-centred learning environments. Compared to traditional approaches, these technologies enhance the efficiency of classroom instruction and learning. This report describes the steps to use ICT in English language instruction across Gujarat. This paper focuses on a survey conducted among 280 UG-level commerce students and 20 teachers (teaching at the UG level) in Gujarat state. A structured questionnaire was designed in Google Forms, covering the reviews of learners in different colleges in Gujarat, and a qualitative survey was conducted for teachers in the form of an interview. The survey was conducted after an online seminar on ‘competitive exams’, where students and teachers from different colleges were gathered. The survey was conducted to construct a data-based scenario on students' and teachers’ attitudes, observations, and experiences regarding the ICT tools. Later, the data was analyzed and interpreted to develop better insight, which ultimately helped make appropriate generalizations. Finally, the paper enlists major findings and recommendations for improving the current scenario.
