Explores the mechanism of Fast Radio Bursts in a cosmic framework, suggesting new insights into their origins.
Title: Fast Radio Bursts: Explaining 20220912A as a Cosmoquake Description: We propose that Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs) are cosmoquakes — transient torsional relaxation events propagating along Weyl Curvature Imprints (WCIs), massless curved regions of the space-time fabric. When cosmic expansion stretches a WCI, internal torsional stress accumulates until it triggers an untangling cascade: a self-propagating front of discrete 120° crack events that unwinds trillions of quantum knots in milliseconds. The rapid local variation of the fine-structure constant alpha during this cascade couples torsional energy into the electromagnetic field, producing the observed radio burst. We apply this framework to the well-studied repeating source FRB 20220912A. Burst duration (1-5 ms) yields a relaxation length of ~720 km for an untangling front speed of ~0.8c. Subpulse separations (0.1-1 ms) give a WCI transverse width of ~75 km via torsional echoes. High circular polarization (20-70%) reflects the intrinsic chirality of the host WCI. Power-law waiting times match the Omori law for aftershock sequences on tectonic faults. The neutron star scale coincidence (~600-1200 km) is demystified: it arises from c and millisecond timescales, not from a compact object. No magnetar, no black hole, and no stellar-mass central engine is required. A key falsifiable prediction is that the sign of circular polarization must remain constant across all bursts from the same repeating source.
