Abstract Global warming is one of the most serious environmental challenges facing the world today. It refers to the gradual increase in the Earth’s average temperature due to the excessive emission of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. Human activities including industrialization, deforestation, urbanization, and the burning of fossil fuels are the major causes of global warming. The impacts of global warming are visible in the form of rising sea levels, melting glaciers, extreme weather events, irregular rainfall, droughts, floods, and loss of biodiversity. It also affects agriculture, human health, water resources, and the overall ecosystem. Developing countries are particularly vulnerable due to limited resources and rapid population growth. Global warming has become a global concern that requires collective action at local, national, and international levels. Sustainable development, renewable energy adoption, afforestation, environmental awareness, and strict environmental policies are essential to reduce its harmful effects. This study highlights the major causes, impacts, and possible solutions to global warming and emphasizes the need for immediate action to protect the environment and ensure a sustainable future for coming generations.
