Case reports reveal surgical excision outcomes for giant mesenchymal tumors in women, suggesting need for early diagnosis.
Giant mesenchymal tumors of the vulva are extremely rare and may mimic more common vulvar or inguinal conditions, leading to diagnostic delays. We report two cases of Indonesian women with progressively enlarging vulvar masses. The first, a 42-year-old female, presented with a 20 × 15 × 7 cm left labial mass causing discomfort; histopathology confirmed a leiomyoma with cystic degeneration. The second, a 65-yearold female, had a 15 × 8 × 7 cm pedunculated labial mass initially suspected as a hernia; histological examination revealed a fibrolipoma. Both patients underwent complete surgical excision under spinal anesthesia, with no complications or recurrence at follow-up.These cases emphasize the importance of including mesenchymal tumors in the differential diagnosis of vulvar masses. While imaging assists in assessing tumor extent, definitive diagnosis relies on histopathological evaluation.Surgical excision remains the treatment of choice, offering favorable outcomes.Reporting such rare cases contributes to the limited literature and supports early recognition and timely management of giant vulvar mesenchymal tumors.
