Review essay examines Kelsen's writings on law and sociologism across two significant volumes.
This is a review essay of two of the most recent volumes published in the Hans Kelsen Werke series by Mohr Siebeck. Volumes 9 and 10 contain dozens of articles, small monographs, and even several books. Even a lengthy review essay such as this one cannot discuss the entirety of the contents of both volumes. Instead, this essay is focused on two semi-related topics: law and sociologism. Both topics figured prominently in Kelsen's work during the years that the two books cover: Band 9 from 1921 to 1923 and Band 10 in 1923. These two volumes contain some of Hans Kelsen's most important early writings on law and socialism.
