Pulsed field ablation linked to refractory electrical storm in 2 patients with severe LV dysfunction.
Why the study?
Although pulsed field ablation has an excellent safety profile for atrial fibrillation, rare life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias and coronary vasospasm have been reported after PFA.
Pulsed field ablation may be associated with rare but life-threatening electrical storm in patients with severely impaired left ventricular function.
Pulsed field ablation (PFA) has an excellent safety profile during ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF). However, recent reports describe rare, life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias (VAs) and coronary vasospasm following PFA.1,2 We report 2 cases of refractory electrical storm (ES) occurring shortly after PFA in patients with severely impaired left ventricular function.
