Evaluates antimicrobial potential of tetrahydropyrimidine derivatives, suggesting new treatment options.
Abstract-The increasing prevalence of multidrug-resistant microbial strains has created an urgent need for the developmentof novel antimicrobial agents. Heterocyclic compounds containing pyrimidine nuclei have attracted considerable attention dueto their broad spectrum of biological activities. Among these, 1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine derivatives exhibit promisingantimicrobial, antifungal, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties. The present study focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and validation of novel 1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine derivatives and evaluation of their antimicrobialpotential.A series of substituted tetrahydropyrimidine derivatives were synthesized through the Biginelli condensationreaction using substituted aldehydes, β-dicarbonyl compounds, and urea/thiourea under optimized reaction conditions. Thesynthesized compounds were purified and characterized by melting point determination, TLC, IR spectroscopy, ^1H NMR,^13C NMR, and mass spectral analysis.
