Examines UCA encoder performance in various communication channels, indicating application-specific designs are needed.
Systematic performance study of the UCA encoder (Beyer 2026f/g) in four experiments: (1) Monte Carlo BER curves over 30 seeds confirm BER=0 until SNR=−3dB with P=1.00; (2) Shannon capacity comparison shows UCA uses 0.1–0.7% of theoretical channel capacity — robust design, not efficient; (3) interference test shows two simultaneous UCA signals separable (BER=0), three not; (4) application channels: optical fiber and EEG robust, telecom audio fails (bandpass problem), mobile (Rayleigh fading) robust, SETI partial. Results motivate application-specific UCA variants.
