ABSTRACT 6‐Methoxyquinolin‐8‐amine is a quinoline derivative of significant synthetic importance and serves as a crucial intermediate in the development of antimalarial agents and drugs. Over the past four decades, numerous studies have investigated several synthetic methodologies for the preparation of 6‐Methoxyquinolin‐8‐amine. This review gives a comprehensive summary and comparison of the reported synthetic approaches to 6‐methoxyquinolin‐8‐amine, involving classical quinoline ring‐forming reactions, metal‐catalyzed hydrogenation, and reduction strategies, photoredox‐based, and green methodologies, as well as multistep synthetic routes. The review systematically highlights the synthesis of 6‐methoxyquinolin‐8‐amine, with a focus on significant innovations and recent developments in the field.
