Based on 11,813 micro-level enterprise data from China between 2012 and 2024, this paper systematically examines the emission reduction effect of new-quality productivity on air pollution using econometric methods. With air pollution equivalent units as the core dependent variable, benchmark OLS regression and industry fixed-effect models were constructed, and robustness tests were conducted through methods such as dependent variable substitution and quantile regression. The study finds that new-quality productivity has a significant emission reduction effect on air pollution, which is significantly negative at the 1% statistical level. Quantitative analysis shows that a 1-unit increase in new-quality productivity can reduce air pollution equivalent units by 47,100, and a 10% increase can achieve a pollution reduction rate of 1.14%. This emission reduction effect remains consistent across different model specifications and robustness tests. The research conclusions provide micro-level empirical evidence for promoting the development of new- quality productivity and achieving green and low-carbon transformation.
