Presentation reveals that LARPing enhances understanding of information networks in student research, suggesting innovative educational strategies.
This presentation shares a collaboration between a librarian and art professor from Southern Methodist University who teamed up to create a research assignment that had students LARPing in the library. Students used various physical resources in the library to create lore for their guild. This multi-session exercise helped students understand information networks in a tangible way and disrupted students' expectation that all research, especially within the arts, could be done online.
