Demonstrates enhanced gas sensing in toxic formaldehyde using atomically dispersed Cu on Co3O4, highlighting new sensing capabilities.
Gas Sensors Reactive surface structures defined with atomic precision link interfacial chemistry to selective and enhanced gas recognition in redox-active metal oxides. Here, this is demonstrated with atomically dispersed Cu sites on Co3O4 surfaces yielding interfacial Cu-O-Co motifs that lower the temperature required for lattice oxygen activation. This enables the sensing of toxic formaldehyde traces at low temperatures. More in Research Article e00033, Andreas T. Güntner and co-workers.
