Genome assembly reports the sequence of Sphaerium corneum, suggesting insights into bivalve genetics.
<ns5:p> We present a genome assembly from an individual <ns5:italic>Sphaerium corneum</ns5:italic> (European fingernail clam; Mollusca; Bivalvia; Venerida; Sphaeriidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 3 625.51 megabases. Most of the assembly (95.64%) is scaffolded into 15 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.76 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland. </ns5:p>
