Evaluates educational materials to reshape beliefs about sports in university students, suggesting improved ethics awareness.
The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate educational materials aimed at encouraging first-year university students majoring in physical education and sports sciences to critically reconsider their beliefs about sports and coaching, with the goal of preventing repetition of violence and power harassment. The materials were designed on the basis of 3 key pedagogical strategies: (1) revealing students’ implicit beliefs about sports and coaching through risk analysis related to violence and harassment; (2) incorporating a card game format to promote enjoyable and engaging learning; and (3) fostering reflection from both preventive and aspirational ethical perspectives. These strategies were intended to facilitate multidimensional and autonomous reconsideration of students’ beliefs.
