Describes the synthesis of new metal-organic frameworks using cadmium, highlighting their structural characteristics.
The Cd(II) coordination polymers [Cd3(bdc)2.4(2-Ibdc)0.6(DMF)4] (1) and [Cd(2-Ibdc)(bipy)]·1.2DMF (2·1.2DMF) are obtained. In compound 1, partial replacement of terephthalic acid (bdc) molecules by 2-iodoterephthalic acid (2-Ibdc) molecules is achieved. The structure of compound 2·1.2DMF exhibits a disorder of 2-Ibdc and 4,4′-bipyridine molecules. The structures of the compounds are determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.
