The article presents the problem of studying the communicative orientation of a manager and its connection with the social-psychological climate in a work team. The article highlights features of the team climate in relation to such types of the manager’s communicative orientation as authoritarian, conformal, indifferent, and manipulative types. The authors show that optimizing the socio-psychological climate is a psychological and ergonomic task of taking into account the social and psychological potential of the group and the individual, and creating a more fulfilling lifestyle for members of the production group. The manager’s communicative orientation contributes to interacting in the work team, determines the course and results of joint activities, and satisfaction with the results and process of joint work. Based on valid and reliable methodological tools, statistically significant correlation relationships are identified between the manager’s types of communicative orientation and the microclimate in the team. The conducted quantitative, qualitative, and statistical analysis of the research data reveals that such types of communicative orientation of the manager as authoritarian, conformal, indifferent, and manipulative ones are important factors in developing the components of the socio-psychological climate in the work team.
