Demonstrates efficient conversion of hydroxymethyl oxindoles to triazole hybrids, highlighting synthetic efficiency.
An efficient and practical strategy has been developed for the conversion of 3‐hydroxymethyl‐3‐methyl‐2‐oxindoles into the corresponding azidomethyl derivatives, providing straightforward access to synthetically valuable oxindole azides. These intermediates readily undergo Cu(I)‐catalysed azide‐alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) reactions to afford a diverse range of triazole‐linked oxindole conjugates in good to excellent yields. The protocol proceeds under operationally simple conditions and exhibits broad substrate scope with respect to various alkynes, enabling rapid structural diversification of the oxindole framework. This approach significantly expands the synthetic utility of C3‐functionalized oxindoles and provides convenient access to hybrid oxindole triazole architectures with potential medicinal applications.
