Demonstrates improved higher-order skills in university courses using PBL with museum resources, suggesting broader educational implications.
University museums hold significant potential in the practice of higher education, the PBL teaching method can integrate university museum resources with course objectives. Previous museum PBL teaching practices have focused on content, but have not fully emphasized the role of form. This study finds that applying formal logic can effectively activate museum resources and broaden the educational landscape of university museums. This approach can connect with various types of courses across the university, based on this method, a transferable course development path is proposed, which promotes active student learning through teacher guidance, student practice, and group creation. The paper uses the case of Tsinghua University's Writing and Communication: Cultural Heritage course, which combined with the development of resources from Tsinghua University Art Museum, to demonstrate how this approach can effectively cultivate students' higher-order skills and initiative. This transferable course development path, based on the PBL teaching method, can assist university faculty, museum staff, and others in more broadly and fully utilizing university museum resources, thereby contributing to the overarching goal of higher education in nurturing innovative talents.
