Curriculum design enhances learning outcomes in junior secondary school geography through museum study tours, indicating an improved cultural connection.
Relying on museum to carry out educational tours contributes to the revitalization of cultural relic collections while also enhancing students' sense of identity with Chinese culture. How to highlight the learning aspect of the primary target group of museum study tours: primary and secondary school students is necessary to design comprehensive study course that align with the requirement of core subject competencies. Based on the core competencies outlined for junior secondary school geography, this paper proposes a curriculum design framework for museum study tours consisting of four key steps: analyzing the thematic content of major exhibition zones, refining the study focus, defining learning objectives, and developing implementation plans. The study aims to improve the quality of museum-based study tours and foster students' core competencies in geography as well as their public cultural literacy.
