In recent years, the “re-contextualization shift” in museum exhibitions has not only transformed display methods, but also paid attention to explore the cultural and philosophical connotations of exhibits. By situating exhibits within complex socio-cultural networks, it has expanded interpretive possibilities. In 2024, Pingliang Museum curated the original exhibition Artifacts and Dao: The Ceramics and Zisha Art Exhibition, constructing interpretive frameworks through multidisciplinary perspectives, including history, society, culture, and philosophy. The exhibition explores five key relationships: “Traditional Significance and Contemporary Context”, “Technique Inheritance and Artistic Expression”, “Material Presentation and Physical Characteristics”, “Universal Culture and Local Identity” and “Aesthetic Reflection and Philosophical Meaning”. This approach offers innovative curatorial pathways for ceramic-based exhibitions in regional museums.
