Case report demonstrates successful single-stage repair of urethrocutaneous fistula in a child, implying it can be an effective solution.
The urethrocutaneous fistula is an uncommon complication after circumcision. Two stage urethroplasty is mostly use to correct long urethral defects, with good outcomes and no recurrence. We present the case of a 7-year-old male diagnosed with a urethrocutaneous fistula (UCF) after circumcision. The patient developed progressive voiding difficulty leading to acute urinary retention. A thermal injury of the penile urethra was identified. The patient underwent UCF resection and urethroplasty using a foreskin flap in a single-stage surgery without complications. Single-stage reconstruction is feasible for correcting long urethral defects in selected cases.
