Evaluates endophytic bacteria effects on tobacco diseases and growth promotion, suggesting potential benefits for agriculture.
Endophytic bacteria presented in plants can stably develop and propagate. Tobacco black shank (Phytophthora parasitica var. nicotianae) is a severe disease of tobacco. We selected endophytic bacteria to control tobacco black shank and obtained strains 118, 57 and 93. Their control effects were 69.23%, 61.53% and 65.38% in the greenhouse, respectively. Strain 118 can restrict the growth of hypha of P. parasitica var. nicotianae. Furthermore, strain 118 can restrain the growth of several main pathogenetic fungi of tobacco on plates and can promote the growth of tobacco.
