Life skills education has emerged as a vital element of holistic adolescent development, aiming to equip youth with essential cognitive, emotional, and social competencies. This review synthesizes findings from over 124 empirical studies conducted globally and in India, focusing on the influence of life skills education on adolescents’ academic achievement, mental health, self-concept, and social adjustment. The analysis highlights the importance of structured, participatory, and culturally responsive life skills programs. The paper further identifies the influence of gender, parental education, locale, and school environment on life skills acquisition. The findings underscore the need to integrate life skills education within school curricula to foster resilience, responsible decision-making, and overall psychosocial competence among adolescents.
