Qualitative analysis explores AI's impact on textbook design and language learning in education.
The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies has significantly transformed the field of education, particularly in English Language Teaching (ELT). AI-assisted textbook designing has emerged as a modern approach that enables educators, curriculum developers, and publishers to create adaptive, personalized, interactive, and pedagogically effective learning materials. This article investigates the role of artificial intelligence in the design and development of English language textbooks within the framework of the IMRAD structure. The study examines the theoretical foundations of AI integration into textbook design, identifies major advantages and challenges, and evaluates the impact of AI-supported materials on language learning outcomes. The research employs a qualitative analytical methodology based on a review of contemporary academic literature, case studies, and educational technology reports. Findings indicate that AI-assisted textbook design improves learner engagement, supports individualized learning pathways, enhances content adaptability, and increases efficiency in curriculum development. At the same time, concerns regarding ethical issues, data privacy, cultural representation, teacher dependency, and technological accessibility remain significant challenges. The article concludes that AI technologies have the potential to revolutionize ELT textbook creation when combined with pedagogical expertise and human-centered educational principles.
