Systematic review compares kidney injury biomarkers and traditional parameters in CKD following yoga intervention, suggesting improved monitoring.
ABSTRACTChronic kidney disease (CKD) is a progressive condition requiring early detection and sensitive monitoring to delayprogression and prevent end-stage renal disease. Traditional renal function parameters such as serum creatinine andestimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) are widely used but have limited sensitivity for early renal injury. Novelkidney injury biomarkers offer improved detection of subclinical damage. Yoga has emerged as a complementary intervention in CKD management, potentially influencing renal physiology through stress reduction and anti-inflammatory mechanisms. Conclusion: Novel kidney injury biomarkers appear to be more sensitive indicators than traditional renal parameters in assessing CKD progression and response to yoga-based interventions. Integratingboth biomarker categories may enhance monitoring accuracy and outcome assessment in CKD management.
