Demonstrates reduced nitrogen loss and increased yield in sugarcane cultivation, suggesting pathways for sustainability.
Based on panel data from 16 regions across the world’s five leading sugarcane-producing countries (China, Brazil, India, Thailand, and Australia) spanning 1980–2023, this study constructs four scenario models. Scenario simulations reveal that the comprehensive policy scenario (CPS), through the synergistic effects of policy incentives and technological upgrading, could reduce global nitrogen losses from sugarcane cultivation by 413.109kg/ha, yield per unit area increased by 22,098.289 kg/ha by 2030. This study provides the first systematic demonstration of the cost-effectiveness advantages of the “Policy-Technology-Economy” synergy framework in agricultural sustainable development, offering theoretical support and practical pathways for the green transformation of the global sugarcane industry.
