This analysis demonstrates stability conditions for an infectious disease model with vaccination in two susceptible groups, highlighting implications for disease spread control.
In the present study, we analyzed the most basic transmission susceptible–infectious–recovered model of two susceptible groups with vaccination for a directly transmitted infectious disease caused by coronavirus disease 2019. A reproduction number R0 is computed, and it is obtained from the two equilibrium points, E0 and E*. The disease-free equilibrium (E0) is locally asymptotically stable if R0 < 1 and globally stable if R0 ≤ 1; if R0 > 1, then the endemic equilibrium point (E*) is locally asymptotically stable, and it is globally stable if R0 > 1. Numerical simulation is introduced to support the results.
