Identifies and describes tadpoles of three anuran species, highlighting their ecological importance.
Tadpoles play vital role in many aquatic ecosystems and show considerable morphological diversity. Understanding the morphology and ecology of these larval stages is therefore essential for understanding the ecological requirements of specific anuran species. This study used mitochondrial DNA sequences to identify a variety of tadpoles in Medog County, Xizang Autonomous Region, China. We present the first descriptions of tadpoles belonging to the following three species: Amolops wangyufani, Rhacophorus translineatus, and Zhangixalus smaragdinus in China.
