Examines welding parameters affecting quality in steel welding, suggesting improvements for technology.
Today, laser welding is growing and expanding rapidly. The process of welding technology is still not well understood, the development of laser machining is the basis of this technology. Of the welding technologies, the combined welding technology creates a heat-affected zone. The quality of the weld joint depends on the heat effect and heat transfer of the metal. In designing this technology, it is important to know the parameters used. We can acquire this knowledge by practical method. The problem of laser welding technology is setting the parameters. The gas used in welding (argon, carbon dioxide, helium, etc. and their different percentages), the welding speed, the concentration point and the power of the electricity used are also very important. Welding materials (chemical composition), sheet thickness and type of connection also affect the quality of welding connections. The welding test is performed with different welding parameters (gas, speed, concentration, power) in the case of a metal with a fixed chemical composition and welding setup. The optimal welding process is determined based on the quality control results (with destructive and non-destructive inspections). The technology used is a new one and the effect of the parameters is not yet known. In this work, we want to show the relationship between the preheat temperature given in advance and the Vickers hardness (HV10).
