Spatial econometric modeling reveals how demographics influence LEED clustering in cities under energy efficiency standards, indicating policy opportunities.
Using a spatial econometric model to identify the demographics moderating LEED clustering in cities that passed Building Performance Standards. Also establishes energy efficiency infrastructure and networks from areas of high, low, and saturated clustering of LEED buildings hinting at energy efficiency path dependence for cities. Cities are charcterized by their clustering makeup and can be used for policy indexes to implement policy and identify building efficiency market failures.
