Novel phosphor enhances indoor plant growth lighting with efficient emission and stability.
A series of Bi 3+ /Eu 3+ codoped Y 4.67 Si 3 O 13 phosphors were synthesized via a high‐temperature solid‐state reaction method. To comprehensively evaluate their performance, systematic characterizations were conducted, including measurements of x‐ray diffraction (XRD) patterns, excitation‐emission spectra, investigations into energy transfer behaviors, and assessments of thermal stability. Structural analysis confirms that both Bi 3+ and Eu 3+ ions occupy the lattice sites of Y 3+ in the Y 4.67 Si 3 O 13 host, and energy transfer from Bi 3+ to Eu 3+ occurs through electric dipole–dipole interactions. The Y 4.67 Si 3 O 13 : Bi 3+ /Eu 3+ phosphor exhibits a quantum efficiency of 42.95% and excellent thermal stability: at 423 K (150°C), its luminescence intensity retains 64% of the value measured at ambient temperature (303 K, 30°C). Furthermore, the electroluminescence (EL) spectrum of the phosphor shows a close match with the absorption spectrum of plant photosensitive pigments, indicating its broad application potential in indoor plant growth lighting systems.
