Interview series features Sucheta Dey discussing protein modifications and cilia regulation in retinal ciliopathies.
First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Sucheta Dey is first author on ‘ SILAC-based discovery of a broad range of proteins that can be posttranslationally glutamylated or glycylated’, published in JCS. Sucheta is a PhD student in the lab of Dr Sudarshan Gadadhar at Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (iBRIC-inStem), Bangalore, India, working on deciphering how TTLL5-mediated glutamylation of tubulin and non-tubulin substrates regulate primary cilia, and the effects of TTLL5 dysregulation in retinal ciliopathies.
