Validation and characterization of new ultra-short-period planets, indicating their potential for studying planetary composition.
Ultra-short-period planets (USPs) offer a unique laboratory for studying planetary composition and star-planet interactions. Because they experience high irradiation, these worlds are often stripped of their envelopes, revealing dense, rocky, or even iron-rich cores. In this work, we present the validation and characterization of two new USP candidates discovered by TESS. By performing a joint analysis of TESS photometry and high-precision radial velocities from HARPS-N and CARMENES, we derive precise masses and radii for both systems.
