There are numerous interventions in positive psychology, but character strengths have gained certain significance. Despite being universally accepted, character strengths can be influenced by cultural differences, as recognition and practice of character strengths can vary from one culture to another. Similarly, the practice of character strengths could be influenced by the local context of Pakistan. The aim of this study was to adapt the character strength intervention to make it more appropriate for local individuals by cultural modifications and indigenization. The adaptation process followed specific guidelines. It included gathering character strengths practices, identifying culturally relevant practices, brainstorming other culturally suitable practices, translating them, finalizing three practices per character strength, getting expert validation and pilot testing with students. It ended up in a comprehensive bilingual character strengths intervention titled ‘Strengths in Self’. It can be highly suitable for the Pakistani population in general and for research, academic and therapeutic purposes in specific. The practical and simplistic nature of ‘Strengths in Self’ renders it fit for non-Pakistani populations as well.
