Survey reveals dominant learning styles among accountants in management and staff roles, indicating educational improvements.
Learning style measures were obtained from practicing accountants in large and small CPA firms and a large industrial company. Accountants are characterized by a dominant learning style that does not vary significantly across career paths or specialty groups. This learning style is more prevalent, however, among accountants with management as opposed to staff positions. The implications of these results for accounting education and practice are explored.
